La Marzocco Coffee Machines
La Marzocco has a reputation for producing high quality, expertly handcrafted and beautifully designed Espresso machines. The company, founded in 1927 by Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi, has a long history in the manufacture of espresso machines. In 1939, it was La Marzocco that developed and patented the first coffee machine with a horizontal boiler, now an industry standard.
La Marzocco Coffee Machine – The First of its Kind
The production of a coffee machine with a horizontal boiler was a crucial turning point for coffee machine manufacturing at the time. Before 1939 all espresso machines were produced with a vertical boiler which made it impossible to serve more than one cup at a time. With the invention of the horizontal boiler, brews could be arranged in a line, allowing one to make two or more cups at the same time. This was the first of many important innovations for La Marzocco; it later created the dual-boiler system with saturated brewing groups.
